Going to California…

2 Apr

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp  I finally know what I’m doing this summer. Not that it’s a surprise, since going back to camp has always been the sort of default fall back plan. Enrollment is waaaay down this year (50 kids) but Timberlake isn’t dead yet. If all goes according to plan, this summer will be incredible enuff to bring enrollment up next year. Of course, that was the plan last summer, but, this year Todd is the director.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp It’s weird, but when I was a camper, TL was always my second home. If not my first. And it was always full of familiar places. Most importantly is that it was always. TL was fact. Recent summers, combined with being staff, bring that into question. TL is not a second home. It’s a responsibility. It’s still a place I can go and feel welcomed (as long as it’s a visiting day or something….) but it’s not a second home unless I make it so. And by “I” I mean “all of us who live/work/love/play/etc.” there.
Work is love made visible.
And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste,
it is better that you should leave your work and sit
at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy.
For if you bake bread with indifference, you bake a bitter bread that feeds but half man’s hunger.
And if you grudge the crushing of the grapes, your grudge distils a poison in the wine.
And if you sing though as angels, and love not the singing,
you muffle man’s ears to the voices of the day and the voices of the night.

Sheesh, you like hiding yourself away over the summer so that we all have to miss you, huh? ^_~ Have fun! (Not that I have to tell you that about camp!)

It’s not hidden, it’s just in the bottom of a remote valley in Vermont. : P
You should come to the end-of-summer fair…

::chuckles:: Bottom of a remote valley in *Vermont.* Yeah. I rest my case!
But yes, I should visit. Maybe I will. We’ll see. I still have no idea what I’m even doing this summer, being the silly goose that I am I continue to forget to send out my resume. ARGH!!! ::hits self and scribbles a reminder::

At least you actually have a resume. I should get around to that at some point.
