Notebook Excerpt

21 May

From an in-class writing exercise way back in Community College:

”He rarely feels like he’s really living in the moment. It’s like everyone else is plugged in to Now, and he’s just floating thru reality in a bubble. While he walks into a college classroom, and classmates talk about each other, he thinks about highschool. He is always remembering. He always wishes his memories were different. Years from now, he will walk into a classroom, and classmates will talk about each other, but he will be remembering today. He’ll remember wishing that one girls hadn’t been out sick. He’ll remember scanning the faces of students and wondering what they are writing about.”
