The same source gives 14 entries for “awesome” (4 of which have already been opted…): alarming, astonishing, awe-inspiring, awful, beautiful, breathtaking, daunting, dreadful, exalted, far out, fearful, fearsome, formidable, frantic, frightening, grand, hairy, horrible, horrifying, imposing, impressive, intimidating, magnificent, majestic, mind-blowing, moving, nervous, overwhelming, shocking, striking, stunning, stupefying, terrible, terrifying, wonderful, wondrous, zero cool. Hmmm…zero cool? huh? horrible? Those aren’t right at all. Nor are dreadful, daunting, fearsome, formidable, horrifying, hairy, imposing, intimidating, nervous, shocking, terrible, or terrifying…Hmmm, this isn’t working very well.

Here’s what it lists for “breathtaking”: amazing, astonishing, awe-inspiring, awesome, exciting, hair-raising, heart-stirring, impressive, magnificent, moving, overwhelming, spine-tingling, stunning, thrilling Hmmm…the options are dwindling, and still I have not found a word to describe the weekend, or the feelings that I experienced during it.
