And then there’s Christmas Eve party. And then we have to hang the stockings. And then of course, I have to be… er… help Santa set up the magical morning in our living room which has a gorgeous big tree with a new train around it! Yay! But Boris likes to knock it off the track. Oh well. Happy Day Four everyone. And Merry Christmas Eve. And I miss Hallie.

Boris is a kitty. Well, now he’s a cat. But he was really cute and tiny.

      The Nine Days
The Nine Days is what my family celebrates at this time in addition to Christmas. My attempt to explain it simply is to say that it is a celebration of things as they should be. It’s a celebration of the world as we want it to be. It’s a celebration of creation. Really, it’s a celebration of all that is. Each day has a color, letters, number, and other aspects of the world associated with it. On each day we try to honor or celebrate the day by doing something which relates to those things. So for example on Day One we wear blue and admire fish (and eat fish). Day Two we wear green and give our cats treats like catnip.
