Soooooo… Apple computer has just released an application called (for now) “Boot Camp” which allows all new Apple Computers to run Windows XP. In addition to Mac OS X of course.

That means that every single Apple Computer you buy from now on will run both Mac OS X and Windows. Ok, raise your hand if you saw that coming!

*nobody raises their hand*

Uh huh. That’s crazy. Now I can start up into Windows to play games and run anti-virus software, and start up into Mac OS X to do everything else.

A couple choice quotes from the Apple’s website:

Remember, Apple Computer does not sell or support Microsoft Windows.

“Macs use an ultra-modern industry standard technology called EFI to handle booting. Sadly, Windows XP, and even the upcoming Vista, are stuck in the 1980s with old-fashioned BIOS. But with Boot Camp, the Mac can operate smoothly in both centuries.”

“Windows running on a Mac is like Windows running on a PC. That means it’ll be subject to the same attacks that plague the Windows world.”

Your move Dell.
